Checks before you go
Note item type (bar, jewelry, K-gold, set stones), labeled purity and whether weight is grams or qian. Photograph condition. Keep purchase documents if any — shops may still retest.
Read the recycling page and the estimate guide so the formula’s limits are clear. Treat any range as comparison, not a commitment. See the units guide if weight labels confuse you.
Typical in-store flow and deductions
Often: check-in → weigh → purity test → quote → you accept or walk → payout per shop rules. Plating, solder, stone removal, melt loss and fees often leave you below “fine content × theoretical buy.”
Ask how long the quote lasts, whether it is firm, same-day payout and ID requirements. Site estimates omit these — details in the estimate guide.
Distance from jewelry sell and COMEX
Jewelry estimated sell is a buy-from-shop premium check; recycling is the shop buying from you — opposite direction. When COMEX moves, refresh home/international and recalculate — still not a buy board.

- Assay and hear the quoteAfter purity testing, confirm quote validity, firmness, deductions and payout. Plating, solder and stone removal often leave you below a pure ratio estimate.
