Taiwan conversions exclude dealer premiums, workmanship, taxes and live spreads; no estimated price is shown without a valid source.

Is today’s gold price a shop or bank trade price?
No. Today’s gold price here is a COMEX reference in USD per ounce, plus a Taiwan theoretical qian and gram price converted with Bank of Taiwan USD spot-sell. It is for comparison only, not a dealer trade price. See the guide “Reading today’s gold: BOT vs COMEX.”
How do today’s gold price, jewelry gold, COMEX and recycling prices differ?
The international page follows COMEX-style USD quotes. The jewelry page converts that reference into a Taiwan theoretical buy and adds a 4% estimated premium as a sell comparison. Recycling multiplies theoretical buy by purity. None of these are shop board prices. See “Gold units” for gram/qian/tael.
How often do quotes update?
The international gold source is checked about every 3 minutes, and Bank of Taiwan FX follows its posted schedule. When the market is closed, the last valid quote is kept and the status is labeled. See the COMEX session-hours guide for open vs after-hours.
Can I compare the COMEX USD/oz figure with Taiwan theoretical buy in TWD/qian?
Not by subtracting the two numbers. The international gold reference on the homepage is USD per troy ounce (COMEX GC=F first; a public spot reference if that source is limited). Theoretical buy multiplies that reference by Bank of Taiwan USD spot-sell and converts to TWD per qian. A troy ounce and a Taiwan qian are different units; this site uses 1 qian = 3.75 g. Theoretical buy excludes dealer premium, workmanship, tax and the live spread. It is not a shop or bank trade price.
Is the estimated sell (theoretical buy plus 4%) a jewelry board price?
No. Estimated sell only adds a 4% reference premium to theoretical buy so you can compare a typical ask range. It excludes workmanship and brand premium. It is not a shop board and not a trade price. Confirm the day’s terms in store.
